Village homes and country lanes
Batheaston's older cottages carry tight stairs and low doorways, and some of the lanes leave little room for a van. We plan the approach and the stopping point before we arrive, and bring enough hands so the carry stays short and safe whatever the layout.
Moves out of the city
On the edge of Bath, a good share of Batheaston moves head outward, into the villages of Somerset and Wiltshire or further afield. We are well placed for those trips and can quote the whole door-to-door move rather than leaving you to arrange the far end.
The last stop before the countryside
Batheaston is where Bath stops and Wiltshire starts, and a lot of its moving traffic goes in that direction. People leaving the city for a village, or coming the other way to be near it without being in it, both pass through here, and the A4 running east makes Chippenham, Corsham and the villages between them a straightforward run rather than an expedition.
Country moves have a different set of problems from city ones. The parking is rarely the issue. Instead it is a long drive from the road to the door, a gate that turns out to be narrower than a Luton, or an unmade track that is fine in July and not in February. We ask about those before quoting, because they matter far more to how a Batheaston day goes than the mileage does.
