Suburban streets and parking
Much of Southdown is semis and family housing with driveways or easier street parking, which speeds a move up next to the centre. Where a street sits on a steeper part of the slope, we plan the stopping point so the carry stays short and safe.
Full family moves
With so many family homes here, whole household removals are a large part of our Southdown work. We bring the van size and the hands to match the property, wrap everything properly, and aim to move it in a single trip where the volume allows.
Families who need somewhere to put the van
Southdown is chosen for practical reasons, and the moves here follow from that. Families come for a house with a drive and a garden, usually from somewhere in Bath where they had neither, and the load is generally a full household rather than a flat's worth. What makes the day manageable is that the van can almost always get to the door, which is not something we can say about much of this city.
That does not make the job small. A full family move is the most underestimated thing we quote for, because the visible furniture is only part of it and the garage, the loft and the garden usually add another van's worth nobody counted.
